Manchester, Vt. based CONIX Systems Inc., a leading provider of payment processing solutions to the financial services industry, announced the formation of a strategic alliance with Norcross, Ga.-based Avalon International Inc., a provider of software products to the financial services and payment processing industries.

The agreement, signed in April, will allow CONIX Systems and Avalon International to jointly develop a suite of reject repair, reject encode and other products compatible with both the Unisys Item Processing System (IPS) and IBM CPCS platforms. This joint development will allow both CONIX Systems and Avalon International to offer their customers a series of products incorporating the best attributes of both platforms. “As the financial services industry continues to consolidate, it has become ever more important that we offer imaging technology that is capable of speaking both languages,” said Seth Narayanan, co-founder and CEO of Avalon International. “By working with CONIX Systems we will be able to offer the products and solutions capable of navigating the most complex and demanding check and payment processing environments. “With Avalon International’s reputation in the IPS arena, they were a perfect partner in offering financial institutions common applications that can operate effectively among different platforms,” said Frank Stokes, president, Technology Group of CONIX Systems. “In this new era of mergers and acquisitions, this is what our customers need to effectively compete.”
