ClearCommerce Merchant Holiday Hotline Assists Online Retailers Fight Fraud

ClearCommerce has launched a free fraud prevention service unique to the industry. The first of its kind, this fraud prevention advisory service is available to all online retailers free of charge.

The Merchant Holiday Hotline will operate from retailers Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving through Jan. 10, 2005, with a telephone support hotline available Monday through Friday and an e-mail help line 24/7. This period is retails heaviest shopping season of the year and is also when the fraudsters are most active. Online retailers can call The Merchant Holiday Hotline at 1-866-497-0343 or e-mail questions to HolidayHotline@ClearCommerce.com ClearCommerce has a long history of working with card associations and law enforcement, and helping retailers who are experiencing fraud locate who to call and how to report fraud activities to the authorities. ClearCommerce established a partnership with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) to confidentially send information about suspected fraudulent orders from retailers in an aggregated format versus sending single isolated cases.
