Claro Brazil to deploy Gemaltos software service for mobile network optimization

US-based mobile operator Claro has entered an agreement with global leader in digital security Gemalto.

As part of the agreement, Claro will use a software service that enables the optimisation of network capacity.

The software service allows Claro to manage its prepaid number inventory and removes the requirement to stock pre-activated subscriber identification modules. The service is set to enable activation when the mobile phone is switched on for the first time.The network addresses to prepaid subscribers and provides them with the option to choose their phone number. Users can choose from a list of three possible numbers.

Claro is part of the mobile operator América Móvil which connects 200 million mobile subscribers.
