Central Tax to purchase e-payment unit of CGI Group

Wednesday 17 December 2008 00:13 CET | News

Central Tax, a Canadian provider of electronic management of property taxes, is to purchase the e-payment division of US business and consumer services developer CGI Group.

Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, Central Taxes is to add the payment services offered by the CGIs unit to its Equal Payment Plan and Tax Reserve services available on its e-commerce platform. CGIs division processes over 10 million transactions annually for various government and para-public entities as well as retail and services companies. As an industry outsourcer and a company active in the property and school tax domain, Central Tax electronically centralizes the tax transaction process, allowing mortgage lenders, municipalities, school boards and taxpayers to interact with one another.
