Cardtronics, USAA in ATM deal

US provider of financial services for military members and their families United Services Automobile Association (USAA) has reached an ATM branding agreement with global non-bank ATM operator Cardtronics.

Under the terms of the deal, 189 Cardtronics-owned and operated ATMs in the metro Washington, D.C., US area now expected to feature the USAA brand and offer fee-free cash access to USAA members. In addition to the ATM branding agreement, USAA has participated in the Allpoint Network since 2009. The Allpoint Network is a Cardtronics affiliate and a US surcharge-free ATM network.

Cardtronics operates over 33,200 ATMs in the US, the UK, Mexico and the Caribbean, with retailers such as 7-Eleven, Chevron, Costco, CVS/pharmacy, ExxonMobil, Hess, Rite Aid, Safeway, Target and Walgreens.

In February 2011, USAA released a tablet app for the iPad, dubbed USAA App for iPad.
