BRE Bank Selects StoreAge SVM

Tuesday 23 March 2004 17:11 CET | News

StoreAge Networking Technologies has installed its SVM (Storage Virtualization Manager) at Retail Division of BRE Bank, one of Polands leading financial institutions. BRE Bank chose StoreAge because of its ability to provide centralized storage management for open systems and improve the level of data protection, while significantly lowering administration costs. The installation was accomplished in cooperation with CK ZETO, StoreAges partner in Poland. BRE Bank (www.brebank.com.pl) is a market leader in terms of equity, scale of operations, growth rate, diversity of the product offer, and high-tech banking systems. It is one of the first companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and belongs to Polands leading investment banks. In order to support its large IT environment and growing storage needs, BRE Bank sought a cost-effective solution to provide volume expansion for its Microsoft Cluster Servers (MSCS). The StoreAge SVM provides BRE Bank several key benefits: -- The ability to add storage devices and operating systems from heterogeneous vendors, based on price considerations, as future needs dictate. -- Improvements in business continuity by isolating cluster behavior - failover of one cluster does not cause downtime to applications running on other clusters. -- All clustered servers in the SAN boot from the centrally managed SVM volumes. Booting from SVM volumes enables BRE to take advantage of SVMs advanced capabilities such as central management, data protection and replication.
