Axalto Launches WiFi Enabled Point of Sale Terminals

Axalto has launched its MagIC X1000 product range with a WiFi 802.11b enabled wireless point of sale terminal. The terminal, which will be rolled out in large volumes early next year, is able to accept both off and online remote payments transaction up to 300 meters, from the docking station.

It will enable shopping malls retailers and other businesses to offer customers more flexible and secure solutions for payment. The WiFi-enabled MagIC X1000 offers key advantages: easy to install, it can be put in service and start processing payments very quickly. All the online transactions being transmitted over the Wireless Local Area Networks (LANs), there is no wired lines required, and therefore provides considerable cost savings. Finally, the WiFi-based payment transactions speed is also considerably faster ?a few seconds- than the one with standard POS installations. This development marks the completion of the range of point of sale terminals Axalto now offers to cover every customer?s requirements, including CDMA, GPRS, GSM, and now WiFi.
