UK Based Alphameric has selected Trintechs Smart 5000 PINPad as the technology solution for its EPOS implementations across a number of retailers in the UK and Ireland, including Clinkards, Giles Sports and Slater Menswear.Alphameric chose the PayWare Smart 5000 because of its stylish, intuitive design, large display and hybrid card reader. It is a future-proof device that is in keeping with the stylish environment of major retail outlets. The combined card reader allows customers to keep control of their card while facilitating cashier assistance, if required. The Smart 5000 terminal is based on Trintechs innovative OpenPay architecture consisting of a fast and powerful ARM processor and open source operating system (Linux). This architecture means Smart 5000 has one of the highest chip transaction processing speeds in the industry and is an ideal terminal for value-add applications such as loyalty. Trintechs Smart 5000 terminal is equipped with a single slot for magnetic stripe and smart cards, thereby solving the problem of consumer and cashier confusion at the point-of-sale. The Smart 5000 also has the ability to operate across both DOS and Windows platforms eliminating the need to upgrade the hardware should customers upgrade from DOS.
