Bangladesh-based private sector bank AB Bank has entered an agreement with ElectraCard Services (ECS), an Indian software provider for electronic payment systems. Under the terms of the deal, AB Bank has chosen ECS’s electraiTx service to run its ATM network and process credit and debit cards.

ECS has provided AB Bank with its PA-DSS certified electraSWITCH, electraDEBIT and electraCREDIT series from the product suite.

electraSWITCH is set to be implemented for Cashlink Bangladesh Limited (CBL) Network, a subsidiary of AB Bank. CBL is currently providing Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) services through its shared ATMs and POS network.

ECS’ electraiTx suite provides payment processing capabilities to acquirers and issuers of credit, debit and prepaid card programs including banks, retailers, exchange houses, remittance agents, in-country processors and telcos.

ECS is a subsidiary of Opus Software Solutions. ECS is a PCI DSS certified Third Party Processor (TPP) for MasterCard and Visa across the issuing and acquiring spectrum of the electronic payments business.

In recent news, ElectraCard Services (ECS) has entered an agreement with systems integration and professional services firm G-ABLE to promote and distribute ECS’ electraiTx suite of payment products in Thailand.
