US Postal Service to add Bill Me Later payment option

Tuesday 16 June 2009 00:00 CET | News

The US Postal Service is to integrate the Bill Me Later online billing service with its Click-N-Ship online application, in a bid to enable customers to pay for postal items online without using a credit card, auctionbytes.com reports.

The Click-N-Ship service allows customers to create prepaid shipping labels on standard printing paper. This covers the postage due and includes a delivery confirmation number to indicate the date and time of delivery.

By the end of June 2009, an online system is to be made available for printing postage for items sold on eBay. The system currently requires that after selling an item on eBay, the seller must select Print Postage on eBays Selling Manager page and log in to PayPal to fill out a form for printing postage, mentioning the size of the package and other information. After the label is printed out, the seller must log in to PayPal for the postage to be automatically deducted from the PayPal account. By using the new application, PayPal login will no longer be required, as the shipping label will be printed out without the seller leaving eBays website, the same source reports.
