Ukash partners Citadel Commerce to extend online issuing service to Greece, Hungary

Wednesday 20 January 2010 11:36 CET | News

UK-based alternative payment services provider Ukash has forged an alliance with e-commerce company Citadel Commerce to make its online issuing service available to customers in Greece and Hungary.

Via a process supported by Citadel Commerce, consumers can convert money into e-cash directly from a bank account by accessing an interface hosted by Citadel where they can purchase unique 19-digit Ukash vouchers (available in denominations of EUR 20 to EUR 100). The voucher will be displayed on screen as well as emailed to the customer.

The Ukash vouchers, which can be used for purchases on social networks, virtual worlds and online games, are available through payment terminals in retail outlets across Europe, South Africa and Australia and are also issued online from the company’s website in selected European territories.

In December 2009, Ukash introduced online issuing to Chinese customers, allowing them to order their unique voucher via an online ‘pinshop’ and pay using their China Union Pay branded debit card.
