Card issuer Thai Smart Card has teamed up with eleven companies to introduce the Smart Purse @nline system for online payments in Thailand.

The eleven partners which are involved in the project are Asia Soft, Zest, and C-Plus active in the gaming industry, SF Cinema City and GMM in the entertainment sector, S&P, Double A Book Tower, CS Loxinfo, Green Bus Thailand under shopping category, as well as bill payment services provider Counter Service and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
In order to use the newly launched system, customers must have an activated Smart Purse card and they must also buy a Smart Card Reader available at 7-Eleven.The latter is to be connected to a computer through USB in order to allow customers to make online payments. The process does not presuppose completing a background application before use. The card reader is able to read financial information stored in the Smart Purse card and does not need the cards number for transaction approval. Issued by Thai Smart Card, the Smart Purse card can be used as a discount card at participating merchants, for money transfer, for e-ticketing or as an ID or loyalty card. It can be purchased at every 7-Eleven store across Thailand, at Yamaha shops, To-Sit restaurants, MBK centre’s souvenir shop and information centres.
