South Africa: mimoney expands online footprint

Tuesday 25 May 2010 08:40 CET | News

Standard Bank’s mimoney, South Africa’s virtual currency division that enables online transactions, has expanded its merchant footprint by signing deals with three online retailers, namely Take2, Simplicity.co.za and luxury e-tailer Luxury4Less (more4bucks).

The mimoney virtual payment voucher can be used as a payment option on any electronic environment. In order to buy mimoney vouchers, customers make a payment to the Standard Bank mimoney account. They then receive a mimoney voucher, which is an 18-digit number to the same value, which will be delivered to a designated mobile phone device upon purchase.

mimoney’s retail partners include Kalahari.net, Ster Kinekor, eXactMobile, Mr Delivery, mxit, wireless, incredibytes, edreams, mitime, exactmusic and NetForist.
