Socialwise, Offerpal Media to develop payment programs for the teen market

Wednesday 2 December 2009 08:53 CET | News

US e-commerce payments company Socialwise has joined forces with Offepal Media, a provider of virtual currency monetization solutions to develop payment programs for teenagers.

Offerpal is set to integrate Socialwises BillMyParents service on its proprietary monetization platform as an alternate payment solution alongside Visa, MasterCard and PayPal. As a result, by using BillMyParents, teenagers will be able to acquire virtual currency across Offerpal’s network of over 2,000 publishers and buy virtual gifts, subscriptions, game-play upgrades and other virtual goods.

BillMyParents is a youth payment system that enables teenagers to shop online without a credit card, while giving parents the ability to track and control spending. By clicking on BillMyParents button at the online merchants checkout, teenagers send a request to their parents or other relatives on a potential purchase by email or SMS through an automated system.
