UK-based payment processing services developer Realex Payments has seen its revenue grow by 28 percent to EUR 9.8 million for the financial year ended April 2012. The company’s transaction volume also rose by 44 percent to reach 70 million.

Realex attributes this surge in growth to its activities in the UK and Europe. The company’s revenue in the UK market grew by 95 percent and in continental Europe by 31 percent during the same interval.

During the year Realex Payments signed up an additional 3,550 online retailers as clients, bringing its total client base to 8,360.

Realex Payments has also seen an increase in the value it is processing for its clients – for the year this amounted to EUR 13.4 billion, reflecting an average transaction value of over EUR 190. Since the year end, the company has seen its growth rate increase further and in June 2012, Realex Payments processed in excess of EUR 1.5 billion for the entire month.
