Paymob enters Pakistan digital payments market

Tuesday 12 April 2022 13:53 CET | News

Egypt-based and one of MENA’s digital payments provider, Paymob, has officially announced its market entry in Pakistan.

The company follows its expansion plan after a rapid growth in its home market, Egypt, and after the entry in Jordan and Kenya, servicing local merchants including LG, Samsonite, Uber, Virgin Records, and tens of thousands of SMEs.

With a population of over 200 million inhabitants and over 4 million SMEs, Paymob’s market opportunity is significant. The company aims to bridge the digital financial gap and meet local merchants’ desire for local expansion and growth. Its innovative technologies offer instant onboarding features for the first time in Pakistan, through products like payment gateways, POS, and SoftPOS.

Paymob also plans to extend its tap-on-phone payment acceptance mechanism service, in collaboration with Mastercard, to Pakistan merchants.

Launched in 2015, the company offers various products and APIs, enabling online businesses and offline store merchants to accept and send payments, potentially helping their ecommerce businesses grow and expand.
