PayByCash launches PayByCash Code payment method for the unbanked consumer segment

Friday 29 May 2009 10:25 CET | News

US-based alternative payment processing services provider PayByCash introduces the PayByCash Code prepaid product for the young, credit-constrained or unbanked consumers.

The payment option enables a merchant only configured to accept major credit card payments to accept money also via non-bank methods. The PayByCash Code is a 16-digit number which consumers can use only once. It can be entered on a merchant or game website at checkout to pay for goods or services on that platform. Once customers select this payment method, they are automatically transferred from the retailer’s website to a page hosted by PayByCash, where they can input the 16-digit number.

The company plans to make the PayByCash Code available in 180 countries. PayByCash, which is accepted by over 200 online games and virtual worlds, allows merchants to provide their customers with the option to pay for online purchases in other ways than via credit card.
