Panama-based financial services provider MetroBank and the US anti-fraud software services provider Accertify are to join forces to prevent credit card fraud in Latin America.

As part of the deal, MetroBank will integrate its payment gateway with Accertify’s fraud prevention platform, dubbed Interceptas. The platform is set to provide fraud protection for merchants, processors, card issuers and acquirers for both card-present and card-not-present transactions.

Accertify provides a software application for transactions and is compatible with payment networks, including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, PayPal or any other alternative payment method. Additionally, Accertify enables merchants to outsource their fraud management process.

MetroBank processes more than 1 million card transactions a month and provides its services to 38 merchants in the retail, telecommunications, technology, health and professional services industries.
