Netherlands-based payment services provider GlobalCollect has signed an agreement with US online mobile payments company Boku to make the latter its global mobile payments partner and allow online merchants to accept mobile payments at checkout.

Under the terms of the deal, Boku’s payments platform will be integrated into GlobalCollects international payment network. Using BOKUs mobile payments technology, GlobalCollect merchants will now enable their customers to make purchases online via their mobile phone number and charges will appear on their operator bill.

BOKU currently works in 66 countries and with 40 currencies and has deals with more than 250 carriers covering around 3.2 billion consumers.

GlobalCollect provides e-payment services for international customer not-present channels such as internet, mail and telephone orders and serves a range of industries such as travel, ticketing, telecommunications, retail, publishing, portals, online gaming and digital content. Via a single-interface online payment platform, the company offers local and international payment methods in almost 200 countries, including all major credit and debit cards, direct debits, bank transfers, real-time bank transfers, e-wallets, cash at outlets, prepaid methods, checks and invoices.
