Netherlands-based GlobalCollect has won a contract from United Arab Emirates-based Emirates Airline, under the terms of which the former is to become the online payment service provider for the airline.

By integrating GlobalCollects single-interface online payment platform WebCollect, Emirates Airlines allows its customers who want to book online to make online payments for such services via alternative payment options, including local credit and debit cards, local bank transfers, cash (Western Union Quick Pay), direct debits and e-wallets (PayPal). The partnership enables the Middle East based airline to also reach consumers who do not have a credit card or avoid using it for payment online.

“As a full-service payment service provider, GlobalCollect simplifies the process of settlement of funds across the various markets and payment options, while helping Emirates to keep the payment processing costs low and achieve a more effective management of payment risks., according to Richard Vaughan, Emirates divisional senior vice president, Commercial Operations Worldwide.

GlobalCollect provides e-payment services for international Customer Not-Present (CNP) channels such as internet, mail and telephone orders.
