UAE-based online services provider Dubai Trade has teamed up with Palm Utilities, a utility solutions provider, to allow the latters customers to make online payments via the Rosoom online payment gateway, Al Bawaba reports.

This centralised e-payment gateway facilitates electronic payment for services provided by entities directly concerned with commercial transactions such as DP World, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and Economic Zones World - flagship companies under Dubai World - and Dubai Customs. Payments can be made via direct debit, e-dirham and credit cards. Rosoom also facilitates instant settlement of bills with the companies via a transfer of funds from the customers’ bank account.

Rosoom was introduced in March 2008 and within one year after its launch the number of online transactions made via the gateway reached almost 162,000, worth USD 36.76 million (AED 135,000,000).
