Ctrip selects Alipay for online payment services

Online payment company Alipay has won a contract to provide e-payment services to Chinese online travel service provider Ctrip. According to the deal, customers can pay online for products and services offered on Ctrips website via Alipays online payment platform.

The agreement also stipulates that Alipay users can gain access to Ctrip services and products with the help of their existing Alipay IDs. Other payment methods accepted by Ctrip include cash on delivery, credit card payment and telephone card payment.

Alibabas payment platform Alipay provides customers online payment and settlement services. It delivers e-commerce payment technology and risk management system for banks and financial institutions. At the beginning of March 2008, Alipay registered over 69 million users.

Ctrip is travel service provider that offers hotel reservations, airline tickets and packaged tours to business and leisure travelers in China and ranks 742nd in Alexas most visited websites ranking.
