BuscaPé becomes majority shareholder in DineroMail

BuscaPé, the Brazilian website owned by the digital music provider Napsters, has acquired a controlling stake in DineroMail, an online payments platform in Latin America, according to online media outlet portada-online.com.

DineroMail will become part of the BuscaPé Financial Services business unit, enabling the latter to boost its financial and payment business in 28 Latin American countries.The company has also acquired other financial services providers in the region, namely Online Payments Colombia and Digital Payment FControl Brazil. DineroMail will maintain its ownership stakes in the company and will not make management changes. BuscaPé has more than 60 million unique users across its online properties in Latin America.

DineroMail`sdigital platform provides people and businesses with the ability to send and receive money online. It has over 3.5 million users in Argentina and Latin America, with an average growth of 600 percent annually since its founding 7 years ago.

DineroMail has also secured funds from the financial services provider World Bank who has invested about USD 5 million in 2009 through its International Financial Corporation (IFC) division.
