Batelco, NBB partner to deliver e-commerce, electronic payment services

Bahrain-based telecom services provider Batelco has teamed up with Bahrains National bank NBB to deliver e-commerce and electronic payment services for the bank’s clients and potential e-commerce merchants.

Under the terms of the agreement, Batelco and NBB currently provide credit card e-payments processing and have revealed plans to further extend the payment portfolio to include processing of other cards to existing and new merchants.

The e-commerce payment gateway is an electronic payment processing service which allows merchants to accept payments for goods and services sold online or via any electronic means, enabling merchants to gain access to electronic reporting and automatic refunding.

Batelco provides fixed and wireless telecommunications services to its customers across Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt and India. Most recently, Batelco enhanced its e-Services portal to provide consumers with a variety of online services including e-billing, online media outlet tradearabia.com reports.
