9flats accepts Bitcoin payments

Friday 5 April 2013 08:57 CET | News

Germany-based start-up 9flats has started accepting Bitcoin payments, in addition to credit cards and PayPal.

Bitcoin payments will only be accepted for instant bookings, which account for 50 percent of 9flats bookings. In addition, via third-party provider BitPay.com, Bitcoin prices on 9flats are calculated and converted in EUR.

Bitcoin is a descentralized digital currency and payment network, with a current market price of around USD 35 per Bitcoin. The currency is controlled by cryptography rather than by any corporation or central bank. Created as an open-source software project, Bitcoin enables users to transfer funds instantly to any other Bitcoin account holder in the world.
