US Software company Vasco Data Security International launches a new version of its two-factor authentication (2FA) service for mobile based online transactions called Digipass for Mobile 3.0. The service is due to be showcased at the 2009 GSMA Mobile World Congress which takes place in Barcelona between 16 and 19 February.

Digipass for Mobile 3.0 can be used for mobile banking transactions and also for e-banking and e-commerce transactions. The new version of Digipass for Mobile includes a new Graphical User Interface (GUI). Menus, messages, logos, colours, and fonts can be fully adapted to the bank’s branding, supporting brand recognition for the end user.

The service also supports multiple languages including Asian characters sets among others, including Mandarin and Japanese. Menus have been extended and include links to services such as ATM locator, WAP information etc. Moreover, Digipass for Mobile comes with automatic update functionality.

For banks and integrators, Vasco offers the software development kit Digipass API to integrate Digipass One-Time Password (OTP) and digital signature capability directly into mobile banking applications. Both Digipass for Mobile and Digipass API are based on proven Vasco Vacman Controller server technology.
