Stanbic IBTC launches online banking service in Nigeria

Nigerian financial services company Stanbic IBTC launches a new online banking services suite aiming to provide its customers with the ability to conduct banking transactions electronically.

The Stanbic IBTC internet banking service allows customers to make payments both locally and across banks and access information regarding their account balance. Access to the system is granted based on a unique identification number assigned to each online banking customer. Representatives of the Nigerian bank have stated that the new electronic banking system aims to cut back on the number of cash transactions and is to achieve integration with the government’s e-payments system.
