Smart, Banco de Oro in mobile, online banking partnership in the Philippines

Philippine-based mobile phone operator Smart Communications has teamed up with financial services provider Banco de Oro Unibank (BDO) to provide customers with additional means to purchase e-Load credits.

Under the terms of the deal, Smart’s over 38 million prepaid subscribers can purchase e-Load credits via BDO ATMs or using the bank’s internet and phone banking services. Additionally, subscribers can carry out BDO fund transfers, account inquiries, airtime purchases and Smart Money reloads using Smart’s the subscriber identification module-base mobile commerce menu.

BDO’s ATM network comprises around 1,800 machines.
