NACHA to integrate EBIDS e-billing pilot into smaller banks online banking services

Wednesday 24 September 2008 16:30 CET | News

Not-for-profit Electronic Payments Association (NACHA) partners with regional US financial service provider Dollar Bank to provide the latter with access to its Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network solution EBIDS.

EBIDS (Electronic Billing Information Delivery Service) is an electronic bill presentment and payment system which allows smaller-scale financial institutions and businesses to deliver electronic invoices directly into their customers’ online banking accounts. Dollar Bank clients can thus settle their bills also via the institution’s online banking portal. Authorized credit payments can also be made via EBIDS.

Banks which integrate EBIDS into their online banking services receive a fee per presented bill. NACHA officials have expressed their hopes that EBIDS helps turn online bill presentment into a revenue source for banks, enabling them (along with other billers and e-billing providers) to reach a standardized level of Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP).
