Maybank, PNB launch online banking-based deposit service for ASB investors in Malaysia

Tuesday 21 April 2009 00:08 CET | News

Malaysian financial services provider Malayan Banking (Maybank) and fund management company Permodalan Nasional (PNB) have launched a joint internet banking service allowing individuals to make online deposits in Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) a mutual fund scheme available to Malaysian natives.

The service allows ASB investors to top up their ASB accounts online using Maybank2u.com, Maybank’s online banking portal. Via the new service, additional investments to third-party ASB accounts are also accepted, which means that family members can transfer funds into their family members’ or friends’ ASB accounts. Individual investors seeking to use the online deposit service must own an active ASB membership number and register with Maybank2u.com in advance.
