Financial services provider Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) teams up with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to launch an online recharge service for the countrys Salik (road toll) system.

The Salik Recharge Facility is to be made available via DIB’s Al Islami online banking service and allows customers to carry out bill payments, consult their Salik account balance and recharge their Salik accounts online. The service requires that users make a minimum payment of USD 13.6 (Dhs50) and a maximum payment per transaction worth USD 1.360 (Dhs 5.000), with all payments made in multiples of Dhs 50.

DIB representatives noted that the new system allows the bank’s customers to achieve a more transparent management of their Salik accounts using traditional Islamic banking facilities. The service is provided in both English and Arabic.
