Global banking systems provider Temenos has partnered with financial services provider Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) to provide the latter’s customers with its Temenos 24 banking platform, online banking-based mobile services as well as anti-fraud capabilities.

According to the agreement, CBE will replace its current seven operational systems with Temenos 24 banking software at over 200 branches. CBE will also gain access to Temenos ARC Mobile, an application designed to provide customers with online banking-based mobile services such as cash management capabilities.

Furthermore, Temenos is set to allow CBE to use Temenos AML (AML), a service designed to screen all payments and transactions for sanctions, prohibition of business activity and anti-terrorist financing in accordance with government mandates.

Temenos and CBE will implement the banking software in a phased roll out with the first stage expected to start in 2011.
