Co-operative Bank of Kenya Launch Mobile Banking Services

Co-operative Bank of Kenya has launched a mobile telephone banking service, the first of its kind in the country.

The service will enable customers to know their account balances at any time and from any location within the areas covered by the mobile telephone services. The service will also enable the banks customers to buy airtime using funds available in their accounts. Customers could send airtime to friends and relatives through direct debits from their accounts. They will also get SMS alerts immediately their salaries are credited into their accounts. The bank also plans to extend the service to payment of utility bills such as electricity in the next two months.
