ASB Bank opens new branch on Facebook

Tuesday 14 September 2010 09:49 CET | News

New Zealand financial services provider ASB Bank has made available a “virtual branch” service on Facebook.

Initially launched as a trial program, ASB’s new virtual branch application is set to allow Facebook users to carry out private financial conversations with ASB banking specialists. Users will also be able to perform a range of actions on ASB’s Facebook branch including withdrawals, fund transfers and credit card payments. The online branch will be open from 8am to 9pm seven days a week for service to all members of the public, wherever they can access Facebook’s webpage.

ASB Bank has decided to extend its presence across social media networks as a result of the increased usage of their Twitter account. ASB’s services are also available by branch, through the bank’s contact centre and via the mobile banking channel.
