Zong expands m-payments platform

Friday 18 March 2011 10:35 CET | News

Mobile payment services provider Zong has recently made its m-payment services available to more application platforms and remote devices.

As a result, Zong is expected to enable developers to integrate its m-payments service in several environments, including Flash, Unity, Interactive TV, gaming consoles and the mobile web.

How it works

To integrate the Zong m-payments platform into their technology, developers have to collect the mobile number from the user. Zong is set to verify the phone number via a text message and then complete the billing transaction on consumers’ mobile phone bills or prepaid mobile accounts.

In addition, Zong has made its in-app payment system available on Android 3.0 Honeycomb-powered tablets. Thus, users can make purchases by tapping one button on their Android based-devices and Zong verifies the mobile user, processes the payment and charges it via the carrier. In addition, users are not required to download, register or log in.
