The Phoenix Group, Ingenico team up for NFC mobile and EMV payments in the US

US distributor of POS terminals The Phoenix Group (TPG) has entered an agreement with global provider of payment services Ingenico to market and distribute the latter’s Telium series point-of-sale (POS) devices to independent sales organizations (ISOs) in the US.

Under the agreement, TPG is set to distribute Ingenicos countertop terminals, NFC-enabled mobile devices and terminals that accept payments including contactless, EMV, NFC mobile and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

The complete Telium series includes iCT220 & iCT250 countertop terminals, iWL220 & iWL250BL (bluetooth) wireless devices, iPP220 & iPP320 PIN pads and iSMP smartpay mobile device for iPhone and iPod touch.

In recent news, Ingenico and Vantiv, a provider of payment strategies and technology for financial institutions and businesses, have entered an agreement to complete the Class A certification of the Telium series devices. Additionally, a US payment processor has selected Ingenicos Telium series point-of-sale (POS) products coupled with Vantiv point-to-point encryption (P2PE) service.
