Thales, Miura Systems partner for mobile payment services

French provider of information systems and communications security Thales has entered an agreement with provider of electronic payment hardware Miura Systems to launch an integrated mobile payment service that enables merchants to adopt mobile point of sale (mPOS) systems that support PIN based transactions, including the use of EMV chip cards.

The Miura Shuttle mPOS terminal is a card reader and secure PIN pad that connects to smartphones or tablets via Bluetooth.

The Thales payShield HSM is designed to support card based transactions and includes enhanced support for key management for mPOS terminals and encryption of cardholder data.
