Online payment gateway Telr has entered into a collaboration with Samsung to launch Samsung Pay in the UAE and improve the digital payment landscape in the region.

Through this partnership, Telr integrated Samsung Pay into its suite of payment solutions, which aims to support the UAE’s ecommerce capabilities. The collaboration comes just a month after Telr expanded into Jordan and Bahrain to assist digital transformation in MENA’s ecommerce sector. This enabled businesses in both countries to access Telr’s payment solutions to simplify online transactions and support local enterprises in broadening their customer reach.

Augmenting payments in the UAE

By combining Telr’s knowledge of online transactions with Samsung’s technology, this alliance focuses on accelerating the adoption of mobile payments in the region, providing merchants and customers with a secure, efficient, and user-friendly option to make transactions on Samsung devices. Additionally, Samsung Pay allows customers to complete purchases using their stored card and shipping information stored in the Samsung Wallet. Through this simplified process, the company mitigates the need for time-consuming form-filling, thus substantially scaling conversion rates for merchants. Also, Samsung Pay incorporates features such as fingerprint recognition and advanced data encryption to secure users’ sensitive details.

Furthermore, representatives from Telr commented on the collaboration, mentioning that their company is committed to mitigating fragmentation and offering merchants modern and reliable payment options. By launching Samsung Pay, Telr aims to provide a solution that meets the growing demand for mobile-first solutions from merchants, ensuring they remain competitive in the ecommerce landscape. At the same time, Samsung highlighted that the partnership with Telr aligns with the company’s allegiance to offering innovative solutions and augmenting the digital experience for users. The integration is set to scale the adoption of digital payments in the UAE, supporting both businesses and consumers.

In addition, Telr centres its efforts on transforming ecommerce by simplifying cashless transactions and advancing digital payments across 120 currencies and languages. Since the launch of its operations, the company has been assisting businesses in the region with a suite of services, including payment options, security, and customised solutions.
