SMSParking launches SMS parking payments in Amsterdam

Thursday 30 October 2008 07:31 CET | News

SMSParking has introduced its services in Amsterdam and will expand its operations to other Dutch cities later on.

Before using the service, clients must first register, after which they can use the parking payment service with multiple cars. Users pay a onetime registration fee of EUR 5.

With SMSParking, users can pay their parking fee by sending a start SMS message when they park and a stop SMS message when they leave. The service will then be activated for the time in between, which enables clients pay for the exact time they parked their car. SMSParking will send a reminder by SMS to prevent users from being charged for parking time when they have already left. SMSParking can be used with any mobile phone.
