SmsCoin project launches open source in-app payment library for Android OS

Tuesday 11 October 2011 15:33 CET | News

Russia-based SMS-payments provider SmsCoin project deployed a free in-app payments library with open source code for smartphones based on Android OS.

The SmsCoin project library enables users to get a free version of a program or product and then pay when purchasing additional services and resources.

In order for this to work, a button is added during the library’s integration to the source program. When users press that button, they are redirected to the payment dialogue.

The library then generates an outgoing SMS to a premium short code. If the payment is successful, the end-user receives a reply message that is being stored in the program’s queue and the service is activated.

While integrating this library in their applications, developers are expected to accept payments from over 3 billion subscribers in 92 countries worldwide. The in-app payment library from SmsCoin project is set to be the first of its kind on the Russian-speaking market.
