US-based mobile technology startup Sionic Mobile has entered an agreement with mobile payments services provider DoubleBeam.

Under the agreement, Sionic Mobile will license and embed DoubleBeams digital image capture and e-checking payments within its ION Rewards app for consumers and ION Loyalty app for merchants. DoubleBeam will integrate Sionic Mobiles ION mobile ads & rewards platform in its white label mobile wallet solution for retailers.

In an upcoming release of ION Rewards featuring DoubleBeam technology, consumers can setup an e-checking account as a form of payment in addition to a linked debit/credit card or Dwolla account. Users snap a photo of a cheque and their drivers license using a smartphone or tablet camera to link a bank account.

Retailers using DoubleBeams mobile wallet solution will have the option to present day/time and location-based ads to their mobile app customers and all ION Rewards app users within spending distance. ION mobile ads are free to the retailer and include bonus incentives for mobile customers to stop and spend. Customers earn 1 percent of their purchases in IONs instantly at checkout. IONs are spent like cash on anything at any time at any ION merchant.

DoubleBeam provides white-labeled mobile retailing solutions for retailers, including payment, data capture and targeted marketing services. In recent news, the company has been selected by US value added reseller and developer of point-of-sale (POS) devices Dejavoo Systems to provide white labeled mobile payment solutions to its merchant customers.
