San Antonio Spurs, Tappit team up for contactless mobile payment tech

Payment and data ecosystem for sports, events, stadiums, and venues Tappit has revealed a multi-year partnership with the San Antonio Spurs

This partnership marks Tappit’s first with an NBA team and third with a US league sports team. The aim of this collaboration is to help bring Spurs fans back into AT&T Centre with the implementation of safe and seamless contactless mobile payment technology. 

Tappit will provide its white-label mobile payment technology for fans through the Spur’s official app, which will allow fans to make purchases using only their cell phone. In addition, fans can link their preferred payment method to the app to enjoy a frictionless experience at concession and merchandise stands throughout the stadium to purchase food, drinks, and merchandise. Those using the app will benefit from personalised vouchers, incentives, and loyalty points.
