ROAM Data launches mobile POS card reader

US mobile commerce platform provider ROAM Data, a subsidiary of French-based provider of payment services Ingenico, has launched a mobile point of sale (POS) card reader dubbed G4X.

The G4X mobile reader provides enhanced features including auto device detection enabling plug and play pairing with a handsets and tablets, along with auto power management. The G4X supports both Android and iOS-based smartphones and tablets and is integrated with the ROAMpay product suite providing a mobile point of sale service or it can be integrated with third party mobile point of sale applications using the ROAMpay SDK.

ROAM Data is a provider of encrypted mobile card readers that supplies solutions for companies such as Intuit, North American Bankcard, Sage Payments, NPC and Total Merchant Services.

ROAM also provides a mobile card acceptance service from peripheral to app to provisioning and support portal that can be white labeled for its partners. It also has a set of tools for developers to build POS apps and mobile checkout apps of their own.

In recent news, ROAM Data has appointed Ken Paull, EVP Sales and Marketing of ROAM Data, as CEO.
