Velosel Corporation has appointed one of the worlds primary authorities on RFID to its advisory board.

Pete Abell was director of research, global retail, at AMR Research and was responsible for initiating and leading the firms coverage of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Abell has been involved in pioneering many of the most significant technologies in retail. He was on the original bar code committee for Jewel Companies in 1973, co-developed Electronic Data Interchange for Direct Delivery standards for the food distribution industry, and was involved in implementing some of the first Electronic Shelf Label, Cart Tracking and Smart Card systems at retailers across the US and Europe. Most recently, he co-founded ePC Group, which provides consultancy for RFID implementation projects. The appointment comes as many of Velosels customers synchronize their data in preparation for the roll-out of RFID projects. Pete Abell is part of a team of ten industry luminaries on Velosels advisory board, including VP and C-level executives from Nestle USA, Procter & Gamble, Kraft General Foods, PepsiCo and Transora.
