Thursday 29 August 2013 14:43 CET | News

ProPay, a US-based online payments services provider and a TSYS company, has rolled out a service to provide rent payments via mobile devices for the property management industry.

The technology enables residents to pay rent, communicate with property managers and submit maintenance requests through a smart device. Property managers are also able to implement mobile credit card readers to collect application fees and security deposits with a smartphone or tablet using the ProPay JAK.

The service is powered by Aptexx, a mSaaS (mobile Software-as-a-Service) provider that uses Responsive Web Design and HTML5 technology to provide mobile rent payments for the property management industry. Aptexx leverages ProPay’s Level 1 PCI Compliant tokenization platform (ProtectPay) and all merchant funds are FDIC-insured.

Founded in 1997, ProPay currently processes for approximately 250,000 small merchants enabling them to accept payments while on the go. ProPay provides a mobile payment acceptance dongle dubbed ProPay JAKTM that attaches to smart phones and tablets to process payments and encrypt data.

In recent news, global payment services company TSYS has completed the acquisition of ProPay.
