Postbank adds VeriSign EV SSL protection for iPhone customers

Friday 30 October 2009 00:00 CET | News

Germanys multichannel bank Postbank has expanded the VeriSign EV SSL protection to its iBanking offering.

In October 2007, Postbank added VeriSign Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates on its websites and now the bank has selected the same Certificates for its iPhone-equipped mobile banking clients. Whenever Postbank customers visit the iBanking site, their Safari browsers address bar turns green, which means that VeriSign has checked its authenticity. Therefore, they can initiate transactions and all information transmitted to the website will be encrypted.

VeriSign provides EV SSL Certificates for over 12,000 online businesses. The EUR 237 billion-asset Postbank focuses on retail business with private customers and also operates in the corporate banking sector.
