Parkmobile USA launches NFC- enabled mobile payment service at Boise State University

Tuesday 16 April 2013 13:06 CET | News

US provider of cashless parking services Parkmobile USA has implemented its m-payments system at Boise State University.

Students, faculty, staff and visitors are able to pay for parking at any signed Parkmobile space on campus with their mobile phone using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for the iPhone, Android, Windows 7 and Blackberry smartphones, but they can also choose to pay with NFC-enabled mobile phones by waving or tapping their phone on any of Parkmobile’s NFC-enabled stickers.

To use the new Parkmobile system, customers can register for free and download a mobile app. Once registered, they can use a mobile app, the internet, QR code, NFC sticker, or call a toll free number to pay for parking. All of these options can be found on the signage. After setting up the account, customers can start using the system with their registered mobile phone. They can also select the option to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session.

In recent news, Parkmobile USA has secured USD 6.3 million in a financing round led by its current investors BCD Holdings, Parkmobile Group, Fontinalis Partners and Bluefield Investments.
