Nigeria-based information technology company ChamsMobile has entered a strategic agreement with local financial institutions Skye Bank and Bancore, in a bid to deliver a mobile payment service to Nigerians, media outlet compassnewspaper.com reports.

According to the source, the newly-announced partnership is line with the approval-in-principle granted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for a pilot rollout of mobile money services in the country.

The ChamsMobile service is set to enable Nigerians to conduct banking transactions using their mobile phones, such as transferring money from their bank accounts into their virtual account. The offering is a virtual account that interfaces with traditional payment switches or bank accounts.
