The new range of apps has been developed by Monitise for Standard Chartered Bank’s Breeze brand and is powered by Monitise’s Globe mobile banking technology platform. The apps allow users to view their bank and credit card accounts, carry out funds transfers to other banks in India, pay utility bills at over 100 billers across the country, as well as locate the nearest SCB branch/ATM using an ATM Locator.

Additionally, the new Monitise offering includes a “find and pay” functionality allowing users to choose a cinema, locate seats and purchase tickets, as well as find, book and pay for airline tickets, all through Breeze.

The new application is compatible with more than 700 handsets, ranging from Blackberry devices and the iPhone to the most basic devices.

With live services in the UK and in the US, where it is in partnership with FIS, Monitise is currently working with international partners to extend secure mobile banking, payment and commerce services in territories worldwide, including India, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.
