MoneyGram teams up with Lebara Mobile for international mobile money transfers

Global money transfer company MoneyGram has entered an agreement with Lebara Mobile, a mobile telecom operator, to provide MoneyGram transfer services over the Lebara Money mobile and web solutions.

Under the agreement, MoneyGrams money transfer platform is integrated within the Lebara Money iPhone and Android mobile payment platform solutions and the Lebara Money website, enabling customers in the UK - and soon, in Spain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland - to send international transfers from a mobile phone to MoneyGram locations in 198 countries worldwide.

By downloading the Lebara Money iPhone or Android apps from the iTunes and Android stores, or visiting Lebara Money online, Lebara customers can directly connect to MoneyGrams mobile remittance services global network.

In recent news, MoneyGram and CUP International, a Chinese credit card provider, have expanded their emergency cash service for China Union Pay (CUP) credit cardholders which now enables account holders to access emergency funds from most countries within the MoneyGram network.
